Longarm Quilting Services

Long arm, quilting, quilt, service, tuscan, rose

All of our machine quilting is done by Patty Van Dorin.

Patty has been quilting with APQS longarms since 1999.

Her specialty is modern and micro quilting in addition to other styles including traditional, free motion and art quilting.

Pricing

All quilt prices are based on the square inches of your quilt top.
To figure quilting cost take the length x width x cost per square inch plus $8.00 thread and needle charge and return postage.

example:
60" x 80" = 4800 square inches
x cost per square inch (using the all over quilting price)  4800 x .025 = $120.00
add the $8.00 thread cost  $120.00 + $8.00 = $128.00
add the return postage (large flat rate USPS box) $128.00 + $17.90 = $145.90

$145.90 would be the cost to quilt a top that measures 60" by 80"

You can also contact us and we can provide an estimate.

Customers can supply their own batting. Please note that there are some battings too fragile for use on the longarm, contact me when sending your own batting.

Backing
Customers may supply their own backing. Sheets are not the best choice of backing but if you do want to use a sheet, please make sure that you have washed it in hot water a number of times to ensure that it has shrunk as much as it will.
If you piece your backing, remove any selvages before you sew the pieces together as they will shrink at a different rate than the rest of the fabric and will cause puckers along the seam. Use a sema on the backing wider than the standard 1/4" piece seam such as a 5/5" and press the seam open.

Mail Order
If you send a photograph of your quilt and include the measurements, I can give you some choices as to quilting and approximate costs and then confirm the final quote on receipt of the quilt.

Shipping Charges are actual charges. I primarily use USPS and find that their flat rates boxes are the most economical.
I will use the USPS if you do not indicate a preferred shipping method. Please indicate the amount of postage insurance amount if desired. All shipping costs are added to the invoice.
I can not be responsible for the quilt once it leaves our hands, so please keep this in mind.

When mailing in your quilt top, please let me know by email so I can keep a watch for the package and I will email you when your quilt is received.

Please note our studio is smoke free, odor free and spotlessly clean, however we do have a doggy mascot and a mixture of fibers in our studio that contain wool for those who are severly allergic.

All prices are subject to change without notice.
